I have played it through a couple of times and I found 2 of the three locomotion options were awesome while the 1st one wasn't working for me. It is very easy for the first 2 levels but after that, it really comes to life. I have had a great deal of fun and highly recommend it. The arm-swinger locomotion is what I ended up using most but there is also trackpad smooth locomotion. there was a decent amount of variation with weapons and I discovered things I missed on the 1st playthrough. Last, the developers seem very engaged and on the 2nd playthrough, about 2 weeks apart, I noted new aspects to the missions and lots of fresh sound effects having been added. I enjoyed it and will happily be playing some more. I look forward to seeing the full out of EA release!. It will run on WMR (I'm using the odyssey) and you can get past the tutorial, unfortunately soon after that you'll come across some bad design. I was tolerating the poorly spread apart checkpoints up until there was a reactor that needed a lot of bullets to explode so you could progress to the next area. I got past it fine the first time, then died to the first time encountering some flying flanker bots. At this point it threw me way back to well before the reactor so I plowed through that uninteresting series of rooms w/ the same bots that mostly stand still and shoot at you, still had eight bullets for the reactor -- not enough. So I was stuck, couldn't use my swords on it, couldn't get ammo. If the devs were still working on it I'd consider holding onto it but clearly they've gone MIA.. Right now I'd give this a 3.5/5. It's good for the most part. There are some glitches (key cards didn't work until I clicked the left thumbstick to take me to the SteamVR overlay and then click out) but nothing major.LOCOMOTION:I LOVE arm-swinger locomotion and will buy almost any VR game that has it, but the arm-swinger here is kind of like stumbling around drunk. You can only move forward. This game would be INFINITELY IMPROVED if you could control the direction of your movements based on where your thumb is on the trackpad. You want to walk backwards? Place your thumb on the bottom of the trackpad and swing your arms. Want to strafe to the right while you're shooting? Place your thumb on the right side of the trackpad and swing one arm while you shoot with the other. So, yeah. The locomotion is both the best part about this game and what's holding it back the most.DIFFICULTY:Most of the enemies are fairly simple to defeat. However, some of them are fast movers--like the golden crawling exploding bugs--and/or shoot very fast--like the flying drones--so it's easy for you to take a ton of damage and die quickly.WEAPONS:Personally, I'd ditch ammo packs altogether and have infinite ammo with cooldowns. Fun factor should always come first in games like this.FINAL THOUGHTS:Right now this game is better than average but can be great with some tweaks to the locomotion method. Maybe ditch the health packs and just have regenerating health with more enemies to up the excitement level.. Fun concept+Well made-Abandoned0/5If they would have stuck with it this would have been a great product, but they didn't, it'll never be complete, and it's still scamming people on the store. I Cannot recommend a game that'll never be released, this isn't a full game, and it never will be.If you liked this review Click here and follow for more reviews of VR titles. And Click here if you want to request reviews on other VR titles.. Fun game, but it's sadly abandoned by the devs, last update being in 2017.. I've been playing this game for a long long time and it got me hooked. I Finished the entire game in about 12 hours, so the gameplay time is awesome for a VR shooter.Vindicta got a lot of potentials, and a lot to offer.Different kind of enemies as you progress and new weapons as well. The missions are pretty basic and straight forward to break the gunning monotony, it seems to work fine with me.Couple of things to fix that's for sure:1. Between checkpoints time is long, i'd suggest to add more in between.2. Couldn't nail all headshots (must be a bug or something).3. Some of the enemies shoot at you from nowhere, pretty hard to spot them.Overall Great experience, Thumbs up for the Devs.I hope they update with fixes and more content..Recommended.. This is THE most creative locomotion system ive ever played on VR, it solves the motion sickness issue really well, and its pretty intuative, swinging ur arm to walk in virtual reality can never go wrong, its simulating real life movement making you walk, jog and run. To top it all, you can always change your controllers in the main menu with another awesome controller that actually work pretty well in this game, the trackpad locomotion system allowing you to move all around the game with no bounderies. Simply love the options in this game.Running, ducking, gunning, avoiding incomming bullets and rockets, is so much fun and keeps your heart pounding. A great FPS with awesome looking graphics. The shooting is pretty satisfying, its like holding a real gun in your hand with a great feedback from the controller.Ive played the game for almost 7 hours and still ddnt finish the last level, the arenas and the open sandbox areas keep you coming for more, with different hiding strategies and different starting points at each time until you finally make it.In general the game is freeking awesome, worth every penny....Hope you guys enjoy it, i know i did.. Early VR first-person shooters were met with excitement, the majority of releases were basic wave shooters or shooters with teleport only movement. Nowadays, VR users seem to have found their FPS legs, allowing for more complex games with enhanced control schemes. The onslaught of VR FPS games doesn’t seem to be slowing down, meaning developers have to work harder to stand out amongst the crowds.Dual wield your face off in the fast paced shooter!Thankfully, Vindicta stands on its own as a solid shooter with great gunplay, pretty decent graphics and some nice unique gameplay elements, all wrapped into a lengthy single player campaign that encourages combos and fast action. After finishing off a basic tutorial, you are thrust into level after intense level where you are forced to take on drones, robotic spiders, and a variety of sinister baddies waiting to be ripped apart by you and whatever weapons you pick up along the way. Duel wielding is the name of the game; whether it’s an AK and a shotgun, two pistols, or the two swords on your back, the developers smartly decided to keep the weapon drops pretty consistent, allowing for you to experiment with new combinations to keep the energy level up.If you’re into the combo/kill-stream system, knowing what weapons to utilize for various sections of the maps will help keep your energy meter full, allowing for a higher placing on the leaderboards the developers so wisely decided to implement into the campaign. This lengthens the games longevity, as it is currently only single-player, but with a multiplayer element coming soon. Big colorful text for HEADSHOT or COMBOS pops up when you’re nailing them, letting you know when you’re doing something right. The action is fast and furious as enemies often come streaming into the room in large numbers in the later levels, allowing for wicked headshot combos. The gameplay consists mostly of destroying robots, blowing up something in a room, and finding key cards to unlock doors. While not revolutionary, the developers manage to vary up the mission objectives enough to not feel like you’re on a time loop. Besides all the gun action, there’s a pretty solid climbing aspect, often used to scale walls or a ceiling to get to an otherwise inaccessible door. This system worked quite well, but every once in a while, I would encounter a bug where every new handhold I reached would actually shift me lower and lower until I could no longer reach the next one, but you can work around this.Sometimes it can be a little hard to tell when you get a headshot…I’m kiddingThe one thing the game is lacking is some sort of story investment, it’s pretty basic and doesn’t really get much attention from the developers. It’s clear the focus was on the combat system and the pacing, which, thankfully, works great and helps keep the game moving forward at a rapid pace.Graphically, the game looks pretty nice. The textures are very crisp and clean with everything in this game looking good. The level design is of a simpler nature, not over complicating with finer details, but this does allow the game to run smooth with no performance issues (that I experienced) and works within the funky robot universe the developers created. There are multiple movement control options, including the “swing your arms to run” mechanic that is very well implemented, and a locomotion method by swiping on the trackpad. The game could really benefit from a “virtual joystick” style movement on the trackpad, as the swipe method never really felt consistent for movement, forcing me back to the swinging arms method to complete some of the busier missions. The arm swinging makes for an interesting and immersive mechanic and is fun, but it becomes a little tiring after extended plays. Finally, the game has a decent length, clocking in at around 6 hours or so and, when combined with the quality of the production, is a top notch effort. This is the developers first attempt at the FPS genre and is a fantastic effort, especially for those looking for a fast-paced shooter with a lot of gusto. The story isn’t anything super deep or complicated, but this game knows what it’s about and relishes in it.The sword play is just as satisfying as the gun play…GET YO HACK ON!!!Game Cooks have put their heart into this game, and it shows. From the game tips on the loading screens to, to the multiple movement options available, they’ve really done everything they could to make the game feel polished and up to PCVR gamers FPS expectations. The leaderboards are a great touch, and the “MULTIPLAYER COMING SOON” at the bottom of the home menu should keep this game going for quite some time. What would I pay? Overall, it’s $15 price point is decent for its value and that’s not even including the future multiplayer content. It’s not your typical FPS clone and I’m excited to see what the developers do next!GOOD+Great combat mechanics+Fast paced action+Interesting and fun movement mechanics+Online leaderboardsBAD-Trackpad movement could use a little TLC-Level design is a little on the simple side-The story is shallowA TheVRGride.com Review. Overall the game is pretty polished.. The graphics look decent enough for VR, the guns handle fine although not big fan of the shotgun. I'm also not a fan of the arm swinger locomotion at all but luckily there is trackpad locomotion as an option. The levels try to throw some variety with a few climbing parts and ducking down to avoid fans and such. There is a decent variety in mobs although the humanoid type robots are a bit bland and to easy as they don't move and just shoot from a static point.I'ts not a wave shooter, it follows a story and you progress through levels so that aspect alone is good considering there are so few of them in VR. The price seems steep to me i'd think $20 would be the final price not $30... guess we will see maybe by launch it will be worth $30 since it's still EA... This game shows potential. Sadly I am an oculus user and can only do standing but the concepts is amazing. Right off the bat I can see this game oozes potential. Shooting mechanics work pretty well and there are 3 unique ways of moving about. If it allowed you to use the right stick to turn the camera I would play this al the way. Apart from the fact that I can't look behind me it seems like a really good game. Reloading is issue though. While reloading by putting the guns below your hip is common it's iffy because of the unique movement style. To move you must moving your arms in a walking motion. If you take too long strides the gun will reload unintentionally. Other than that it's an impressive alpha build and would love oculus support.
