About This Game BossConstructor is a game about building and flying your own spaceship. Assemble your own ships from a number of components and explore procedurally generated galaxies!Building your ShipAt the core of the game lies the ship editor. An editor that allows you to freely assemble your very own spaceships using a vast variety of (currently) over 60 modules. The way you build your ships determines how they behave and what they are capable of doing, and, as every module costs money, weight and energy, designing a good, efficient spaceship is a challenging yet rewarding task.Expedition and Sandbox ModeThe expedition mode lets you explore a procedurally generated galaxy inhabited by the von-Neumann; a constantly evolving AI species. You begin with a small, basic ship and advance as you complete missions, discover new enemy species, and scavenge more powerful or exotic components to improve your ship with. Alternatively, you can always build any ship you like without any constraints in the sandbox mode.Artificial IntelligenceBeing a single player game, a lot of attention is being given to the game's artificial intelligence system. The von-Neumann enemies you will encounter in the expedition mode have been painstakingly created using elaborate artificial evolutions, in which vast numbers of mutating ships have competed for survival. Several bonus game modes allow you to lean back and watch just how different AI species compete with each other for survival and how each generation evolves.FAQQ: Which are the supported platforms?A: The game supports Windows, Linux, SteamOS and MacOS. Mac users do still need to manually install Java though (worry not, it's free).Q: Will there be a multiplayer mode?A: Unfortunately implementing multiplayer support is exceedingly complex. Therefore I am focusing on providing a solid single player experience instead. Q: What types of ships can you build? A: Any ship built with the available modules is valid as long, of course, as the modules do not overlap. You can build ships with moving parts as well as ships consisting of multiple ship parts (which can be controlled individually). Q: How large can the ships be?A: You can add modules to your ship as long as they fit within the editor's boundaries and its 14x14 grid (which can be expanded to 18x18 using the integrity enhancer module). Q: How many module types are there? A: There are currently over 60 module types in the game (not counting visual variations). More modules will be added in the future. If you like, you can suggest your own ideas and if enough players like them, I will be happy to incorporate them in the game.Q: How does the artificial evolution work? A: The artificial evolution works by simulating a huge tournament in which mutated versions of existing ships compete with each other. The most successful ships, i.e. the ships which have dealt most damage to their enemies, proceed to the next round while the losers are eliminated.Q: Yeah, but should I buy it?!A: Are you kidding? Absolutely! ;) If you enjoy being a part of constantly-updated games during their development process, BossConstructor might just be what you've been looking for! Please, do feel free to check out the reviews of other gamers or the forums. Also, do keep in mind that the latest changes in Steam's refund policy actually allow you to return the game should you not enjoy it. 7aa9394dea Title: BossConstructorGenre: Action, Indie, RPG, SimulationDeveloper:Mirko SeithePublisher:Mirko SeitheRelease Date: 24 Oct, 2016 BossConstructor Download For Pc [serial Number] bossconstructor download. boss constructor igg. boss constructor vs reassembly. boss constructor review. bossconstructor. bossconstructor wiki. bossconstructor guide. bossconstructor cheats Controls like♥♥♥♥. Imagine building a Lego space ship that really works. Then have it fight other Lego ships and blast them to pieces. Then collect the pieces you blast off and use them to upgrade your own ship. That's Boss Constructor.. So far I am loving it, however my ship is more often stuck, without usable propulsion modules and unable to proceed to gate than destroyed by enemies. I guess it is side effect of going all offence in my ship design.. This will always be a glorified tech-demo in a pre-alpha level of completion, yet I'd recommend it to anyone. Addictive ideas and a lot of potential.. A fun game where you design a ship from parts and use it to complete simple missions. You are given a lot of control over the ship design and specific key bindings to best control your newest creation.Incredible work from the devs who are constantly updating the game. It's alreadty enjoyable and i imagine it will only improve.. Great little spaceship fighting & building game that basically gets as simple or as complicated as you want it to be.You start of with a small spaceship to explore the galaxy and fight baddies, whereby each destroyed enemy has a chance to drop spaceshipparts which you can then add to your own ship and thereby, slowly and steadily, transform your little spaceship fighter into a mighty battlecruiser. There are lots of options for designing your spaceship. If you like it simple, put weapons at the front, solarpanels in the middle, armor on the sides and thrusters at the back and your done.If you like it complicated you can create an ever transforming monster of doom by using pistons and pivots to expand/retract or rotate certain parts of your ship, podracer-like-spaceships consisting of multiple parts only held together by energy-chains, or add replicators to your spaceship, which allow you to build an army of smaller, AI-controlled spaceships that you can also design. And wait there is more! This game also features interesting challenging modes where you can compete on the leaderboard for the fastest / most dangerous / most clever designs to complete the given task. And there is also an evolution mode where you can watch AI ships battle it out in a darwinistic "survival of the fittest" setting, where only the strongest spaceship makes it to the next round. If you ever wanted to watch how an innocent little spaceship with a small missilelauncher evolves into a beast of a bazillion guns in order to stand against its mutated bretheren, THIS is the game mode for you!All in all, really great little game so far, even though it is still in beta.10 / 10I just wish I didn't have to push stupid asteroids around in order for the lab people to like me, but hey, such is life in boss constructor.. BossConstructor is this weird mish mash of different ideas that probably shouldn’t work together but come together beautifully. You explore the world map in a system by system, fighting your way accross the galaxy salvaging parts to create a bigger and better ship to fight an existential threat to the galaxy One of the things that stood out for me when I was playing BossConstructor is that the game was clearly a labour of love by the developer. It was dripping in character, it was dripping in attention to detail and it was well put together despite it's flaws, I found myself loving the game. But I can't really adequately explain why I found it so engaging.Perhaps it was the roguelike starting conditions, where you choose from a few options that dictate the pace how you approach first the missions. On the other hand it could have been the sandbox nature of this odd little game, letting you choose your path and how you approach each challenge put before you or whether even to do that challenge at all. It could even have been something as simple as being able to share my ships through the steam Workshop, aswell as use my friends and other people's ships to test out ideas and learn how the game's systems work. Maybe it was the storyline, which despite the occasional flaw, drew me in but didn't bog me down in exposition. It was just there, like a sprinkling backdrop of space opera. It, it could even have been just the simple exploration, salvaging, and construction gameplay loop where you take down enemies for new parts and you start out in a little tug boat but by the end of the game you have this massive ship with arrays of guns on swivels with shields and lasers flying in every direction.Regardless of what made me love the game I found myself making decisions from a cost benefit standpoint, but every now and again I saw a system being attacked and I helped it even though it didn’t really serve my strategic goals. That was profound to me. Now... I don't wanna be pretentious over what is essentially a fairly simple, and somewhat silly little space game but I really enjoyed this game and the game spoke to me and I think it’s worth looking at. So at the very least if I can't recommend the game to everyone, I can say it worth looking at and making the decision for yourself especially if you’re into exploration, customization and 2d space combat. I love the game, now that said I do have a couple of things I want to criticise the game on here and the big one that stands out for me like a sore thumb was the ending. I wont spoil it, but I felt it was underwhelming. It was a pretty big let down and it met none of my expectations. Now whether that was my expectations being miscalibrated or the game’s failing I can’t say for certain but I can say I didn’t like how it turned out. I didn’t like the ending. It left a mark on the experience that I kind of have to take imaginary reviewer points away because of it. Another thing was the variety of the content available. Five to Ten hours into the game you’re going to be hitting that “Another Day at the Job” zone where you’ve kind of seen it all before and the game has no surprises left to give you. Which is fine when you consider the scope and scale of the game and it’s development but I feel I would be dishonest by endorsing this game without airing my biggest gripes about it.Now in spite of the that there is still loads to do here. You could easily spend hours, evolving ships in the evolution mode or trying to optimize your times on the challenge levels but those are not the meat of the game. The conclusion of all this is I recommend this game for people who enjoy story lite, rogue lite, space ship building and combat games. If you’re looking to pick up a 15$ or €15 game that ticks all those boxes and get 5, 10 maybe 20 or more hours out of it then this is a good option. If you like the look of the game but you’re unsure, wait til its on sale and big it up at a reduced price. If none of the above sounds good to you, avoid the game, its not for you and ultimately its a niche title in my opinion.I also made some let's play content for the game.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX65PTxeYGU&t=565sI do plan on coming back to this game and playing it again once it's fully finished [Still a little bit of development left] and updating this review.. This is a pretty good game if you have no life like me. Boss Constructor combines a lot of elements from various games and creates a really decent title that I would whole heartedly recommend to everyone. In essense this game is:-part FTL (random level progression and instadeath)-part ship builder (scavenge parts from destroyed ships and attach to yours)-part space trading game (occasional random ore and trader to buy/sell stuff)-part intense 2d battle simulation with Netwonian physicsIt's still in early beta, but already has a very stable build with tons of variety and gameplay. Can't wait for the final release!Check the video review for more info:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBW96MhxJAw. This game is quite unique and a very interesting style of game play.I am very much enjoying playing this game and I'm sure that it will keep me playing for quite some time to come. I congratulate the developer on the direction that he is taking this game and recommend it to anyone who loves to build and fiddle with bits and pieces to create an interesting toy to play with. The dev is continually updating the game and offerring us more playthings. He responds readily to comments and is most helpful. All of his updates so far have been good ones.My only complaint is that at this time it is lacking a manual to give the beginner some undertanding of how the variousl components of the game system work. However with some experimentation it has finally fallen into place and the further that I understand it, the better it gets.It is worth the price when compring it to some of my recent purchases online. You should enjoy it. Patch 135: Research Tree Update.: - In order to reduce confusion, the faction count will be reduced to 8 (when starting new exploration games) and each faction will correspond to one research branch. This is reflected by the new colors in the research screen.- Cleaned up and rearranged the game modes on the start screen. The exploration mode will eventually turn into the story mode as I add more story features. I'll also add a bonus endless mode in which you have to survive against waves of enemies at some point. - Rearranged some items in the research tree. - Improved the missile targeting. They should now prioritize enemies more when in range and less when out of range.- You can no longer accidentally deselect all modules while shift-clicking. - Decoration modules are no longer shown in the tech lab screen.. Patch 188: Miscellaneous II [beta]: Changes:- Picking up modules when having a 'full inventory' should be less laggy now.- The point defense module now targets torpedoes. They still explode, but the increased distance from your ship reduces the damage they do.- Increased the name plate's hitpoints to make it an aesthetic substitute for titan armor plates.- Replaced "GWs" with "GJ" based on Arumba's suggestion.- Replaced PinWheel boss with a nerfed version. Thanks Puppet #7!- Naming your ship Boss... no longer automatically makes it a boss ship (you need to add the boss AI CC).- Your interceptors should no longer damage your own ship.- Made the hitpoint overlay colors mote diverse.Fixes:- The laser should now hit stuff directly in front of it. - When visiting shops on the galaxy map multiple times modules you bought no longer reappear.- Changing the module variation should no longer void the module's attributes.- Tweaked the camera movement a bit.- Fixed a layout error regarding the hacking module warning.- The UI should now update after undoing/redoing.(In order to download this patch, please select the beta branch: http://steamcommunity.com/app/330100/discussions/0/353916584666075195/). Patch 149: New AI ships etc.: - Replaced all AI ships with freshly generated ones. The new ships are better adapted to the current gameplay, use some of the newer modules and are less supspace drive-y.- Fixed some bugs in the ship generation/evolution algorithm.- If you first start the game, you are now 'forced' to take the tutorial (you can just leave it though). - Expanded and improved the tutorial.- You can now review your control bindings during a mission by pressing the key-button in the top right.- Improved the thruster particle effects.. Patch 196: Advanced Exploration Mode Customization [beta]: - Added a screen offering advanced options for the exploration mode's galaxy creation. You can change the galaxy shape, the wormholes, the number of connections between stars and more. Let me know which settings you enjoy! :)- Fixed a bug preventing ships from being properly saved to the library.. Patch 194: Bug fixes etc. [beta]: - Added a "sell all"-button to the module trader.- Reduced disintegrator beam damage by 25%.- Ore collected at the end of a mission should no longer exceed the player ships' capacity.- You can no longer sell the same module multiple times :)- Augmentation modules can now also get the 'efficient' attribute.- Limited the number of inventory pages shown in-mission to 5.
